About This Spot

Stepping into Cali-Forno Pizzeria on State Street is like finding a little haven where warmth and genuine care fill the room alongside the irresistible scent of freshly baked dough. The atmosphere is inviting without feeling staged—a casual neighborhood spot where locals gather not just for the food, but for the unhurried moments and friendly faces that make every visit feel personal.

The pace here is comfortably laid-back, striking a balance between bustling energy and relaxed ease. Whether you’re coming in for a quick slice during a sunny afternoon or settling in with friends for a customized pizza that nods to both tradition and your own tastes, the mood feels always welcoming and unpretentious. It’s clear this is a place where the craft of pizza is taken seriously, but without the fuss.

Food at Cali-Forno is an experience woven into the fabric of each visit. The crusts arrive crisp yet tender, carrying the kind of satisfying rhythm between chew and crunch that invites you back for just one more bite. Toppings, fresh and thoughtfully combined, bring balance to every slice—whether it’s a classic margherita that recalls old-world roots or a more adventurous BBQ chicken and bacon creation that feels like a comforting indulgence. Attention to detail is evident, from the seasoning of the sauce to the variety of salads and starters that complement the main event without overshadowing it.

Beyond the delicious plates, the true heart of Cali-Forno lies in its people. Staff greet you more as friends than customers, lending an energy that’s both relaxed and attentive. There’s a family-owned spirit here that shines through in moments small and large—from the laughter shared at the counter to the thoughtful way they accommodate gluten-free or vegan preferences, making sure everyone leaves feeling genuinely cared for.

Whether you’re dropping in solo, looking for a family-friendly spot, or gathering a group to share a few pizzas and conversation, Cali-Forno offers more than just a meal—it’s a little discovery of what makes Santa Barbara’s local scene both comforting and alive.

I made a visit over to Cali-Forno Pizza in December and… these guys are absolutely amazing! Their service is super personable and they definitely have lots of care with what they do. Their location looks awesome and they have a variety of options that are great for small and large parties! Great staff, great food and… amazing energy! So worth it! Keep it up you guys!

Californo Pizza is absolutely superb! From the moment I walked in, every single staff member went out of their way to make sure I had an amazing experience. The service was warm, attentive, and truly made me feel like a valued guest. And the food—wow. The pizza was outstanding: crisp yet fluffy crust, perfectly seasoned sauce, and toppings that tasted unbelievably fresh. Every bite was a reminder of how pizza should be done.

Passing by on the street when the delicious smells pulled us in. The food was AMAZING - meatball sub and half and half pizza. Would highly recommend to anyone! Plenty of options for gluten free and vegan

One of my favorite pizza spots in town! Cali-Forno is a chill, family-owned place that always delivers great quality. I’ve had their full pizzas before (so good), but today I just grabbed a slice and a soda during happy hour—amazing deal. They make everything fresh, and you can add your favorite toppings too. The pizza comes out quick and tasty every time. The owner is seriously funny—his TikToks are part of what got me in here in the first place. Everyone who works there is super nice, and the atmosphere is really welcoming. Great music, good vibes, and even better pizza!

The place had that feel of an old-time pizzeria. Very simple with red booths, metal chairs, etc. There is one TV on sports. We got the pizza slice. It's $6.95 to start, then $0.50 per topping. They wood fire-cook it to order. The crust was crunchy on the bottom and the crust was crisp. A small beer selection but good choices.

Amazing pizza. Some of the best I've had in years. Very nice atmosphere. I was able to get a slice and relax. Not too heavy, not too light of a slice. Just right. The slice had a nice char to it, the sauce light, it made you forget you were eating pizza which is a good thing for me as I'm a health conscious person. Highly recommend this place. I'll be going here again next time I'm in Santa Barbara.
